Embedded Product Development

DeskFone

Embedded Training DesPhone is a relatively new product which is actually an innovative way of turning one’s PC into a complete mobile utility with calls being made, received, recorded, and forwarded automatically. Features like bulk SMS/MMS, infinite storage etc make it a further more attractive device. The PC/Laptop turns into a virtual Phone which (Software running in PC/Laptop) is allows us to use all the features of a (Mobile) phone.

RFID tag reader

Embedded Training
DesPhone is Capability to store up to 6 tags Battery operated Arm/disarm the alarm system Compatible with all existing climax alarm panel systems Power conservation, consumes power in operation only Low battery detection Tamper protection, protects the enclosure from being opened or removed from its mounting surface

Sigma Solutions is coming up with a number of products for commercial usage using technologies like Zigbee, Bluetooth, GSM, GPRS, GPS etc

Sound Experience

Sigma Solutions has gained considerable experience in last few years providing end-toend solutions for clients’ intricate requirements. Flexibility is our mantra. Our engineers understand SDLC very well and understand the importance of processes very well. But we also can offer flexibility in adapting to different processes of different organizations putting us and our clients at ease with each other very quickly. Our strong forte has been ability to provide both software & hardware solutions thereby easing the task for our clients, especially in the domains related to core embedded technologies.

Some of the important projects handled by us:

Consumer Contactless Touch Transaction {CCTT}

Client: Megasoft The commercial usage of the entire development activity was to enable users to carry out cash-less transactions such as bill payments (post-paid), content downloads, recharge their prepaid connections, etc.., A prepaid subscriber’s mobile with SIM inside automatically sends an airtime top-up request to recharge gateway for a ‘value’
touched by the subscriber on the screen, followed by touching the handset to authorize the transaction.

A unique Radio-frequency identification (RFID) passive tag number is incorporated within the sim, which acts as an initiative process for the transaction. The authentication process is realised on an ARM based microcontroller interfaced with a GSM/GPRS modem. The user then needs to continue his transactions on a touch screen module based on QTouch.
The QTouch devices are charging a sense electrode of unknown capacitance to a known potential. The electrode is typically a copper area on a printed circuit board. The resulting charge is transferred into a measurement circuit. Placing a finger on the touch surface introduces external capacitance that affects the flow of charge at that point.
This registers as a touch.

GPS based Pre-emptive information System

The commercial implementation of the project is to track the student’s location travelling in a bus and informing their parents about their locations through SMS. This project is an interface between Global Positioning System (GPS) module and an 8051 microcontroller. A GPS receiver in the bus calculates its position by precisely timing the signals sent by the GPS satellites high above the Earth. Each satellite continually transmits messages which include The time the message was sentPrecise orbital information(the ephemeris). The general system health and rough orbits of all GPS satellites(the almanac) The GPS module is used to track bus location through satellites and send data to the
microcontroller (8051) .The controller takes the input data from the GPS module and performs the necessary operations and sends the processed data to a GSM/GPRS modem. Modem is used in this project for sending information about location through SMS.

Bluetooth stereo headset Client: Qtalk This project was to design & develop a Bluetooth stereo headset product named as HUSHALERT which has a features like voice level indication and warning, headset out of range indication and warning, interactive user interface on mobile handset to control the functionalities of the headset, supports more CODEC’s, echo/noise suppression, speech synthesis, etc.

This product was based on CSR’s Bluecore 5 which has inbuilt Kalimba DSP processorand supports Bluetooth V2.0 on the headset side and J2ME platform on the mobile handset side. This project involves in programming and customizing Bluecore 5 for this application, decoding DTMF signals from the Mobile Handset which was used to control the features of this product. On the handset side application developed on J2ME involves handling Bluetooth libraries, collecting audio data for determining threshold levels and customizing to the level set by the user, send DTMF signals as commands to Bluecore 5, decoding feedback from Bluecore 5 and displaying to the user.
